Composite bonding

Composite bonding uses a tooth-coloured filling material to fix chips and cracks in your teeth. It can also be used to close gaps and reshape your teeth helping to transform your smile.

We can fix chips and cracks, close gaps and get your smile back on track with our transformative treatment, which is a less invasive alternative to crowns and veneers.

This technique often requires no drilling or preparation of your teeth, and the material can be added directly to your teeth.

This makes the whole treatment reversible.

Duration of treatment

Composite bonding can be done in a single appointment. It takes an average of 20-30 minutes per tooth. We can work on multiple teeth in a single appointment if this is needed.

Before we start your treatment, you will need a consultation appointment to discuss what it is you want to achieve and to see if it’s possible. The treatment can then be planned and you will be provided with a written quotation.

Why have composite bonding

Why have Composite Bonding?
Improved appearance

Composite bonding can fix chipped, cracked, or discoloured teeth, creating a smooth, natural-looking smile. It can be shaped to match the contour of your teeth, blending seamlessly with your natural enamel.

Minimally invasive

The procedure requires little to no tooth preparation, meaning that it preserves most of your natural tooth structure, unlike other treatments like crowns or veneers.

Quick procedure

Composite bonding can typically be completed in a single visit, making it a fast and convenient solution for fixing minor dental issues.

Cost-effective

Compared to other cosmetic dental procedures like veneers or crows, composite bonding is often more affordable, providing an economical option for improving your smile.

Durability

While not as long-lasting as crowns or veneers, composite bonding is still durable and can last several years with proper care.

Versatility

Composite bonding can be used to address various dental issues, such as filling cavities, repairing chipped or cracked teeth, closing gaps, or reshaping teeth.

Minimal discomfort

The procedure is generally painless, with no need for anaesthesia in most cases, making it comfortable for patients.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have impressions?

No. We do not need to take any impressions of your teeth for this technique.

What are the alternative options?

ClearCorrect, conventional braces and porcelain veneers are the alternatives to this.

ClearCorrect is an easy process of wearing a series of clear bespoke plastic trays (aligners) which are simply changed weekly to straighten your teeth. As the aligners are clear they are very discreet and no one will even know you’re wearing them.

They are also removable, which allows you to eat what you want and clean your teeth normally throughout the process.

Conventional braces are your other option which is a brace that is fixed to your teeth and can be used to move teeth into their desired positions. They are particularly good for fine and precise movements.

Porcelain veneers would involve preparing and “drilling” the tooth that you want to change and placing a porcelain covering over it. You can achieve a very high aesthetic result with this, but often at the sacrifice of your teeth. They are likely to last 10-12 years before they will need replacing.

How much does it cost?

The cost will depend on the amount of work needed for each tooth. As a guide, it will cost £250-£300 per tooth.

The consultation appointment costs £50, and following on from this you will be provided with a full written quotation for your treatment.
