Dental implants are a thoroughly modern method by which a dentist can replace your missing teeth. At Sutton Coldfield clinic Sutton Dental & Implant Clinic, we can treat even the most complex of implant cases where restorative work is needed on the jaw bone prior to implant placement.
There are numerous advantages to dental implants when compared with standard dentures or bridges, which were for a long time the only way a dentist could replace lost teeth.
One of the biggest advantages is that implants are permanent; with proper care they, and the new teeth attached to them, should last you many years – maybe even a lifetime.
Dental implants also restore full functionality to your jaw. This means that you won’t be faced by the struggle to eat hard or chewy foods that many traditional denture-wearers face.
There is no danger of you being limited to a soft-food or liquid diet, so obtaining adequate nutrition will be easier (with a healthy and balanced diet, of course) which can only be beneficial to your general health and well-being.
Implants also help to prevent the problem of bone loss that is an all-too-common side-effect of losing your natural teeth. There is no reason to suffer with a gap-toothed smile in the modern day and age; dental implants will soon have you smiling again.
Sutton Coldfield dental implants
Your implants will be placed under either conscious sedation or local anaesthetic here at our Sutton Coldfield dental practice. Most patients only need local anaesthetic for this procedure, although your dentist can also provide treatment under conscious sedation if you are nervous or dental phobic.
We will leave your implants to heal for approximately three months before permanent new teeth are fitted. Temporary teeth may be attached during this time, so you won’t be left with gaps in your mouth for long periods.
